A.B.C. Warriors

Story:

'The Bougainville Massacre part 1':  we meet General Blackblood during a raid led by his Straw Dogs against a defenseless mission school on a remote Pacific island. He takes his name by drinking the oil of dead ABC Warriors. Blackblood is needed for Hammerstein squad because he is an expert in guerrilla warfare. But first, the bit of his brain that makes him a butcher has to be cut away after Joe Pineapples blows a neat hole into Blackblood metal heart (6 pages).

Comments:

First apparition of Blackblood which origin story will be link to Mongrol's origins in the recent 'Volgan War' story arc. Here Volgan uses tripods, "Daddy Long Legs" resembling the one describes in H. G. Welles 'War of the Worlds'. In the same vein, Medusa's Mars warriors will also use tripods (Medusa's creatures are based on number 3). In this strip Deadlock's sword is also called 'X-caliber'.
