Nemesis The Warlock

Story:

Torquemada Terminators' mission to exterminate all alien life-forms continues. Their next target is the Gothic empires, and they have started by savagely attack Mafeking, one of the frontier planet. The Goths, currently led by Space Admiral Beatty (aka the Ion Duke) have modelled themselves and their society on early 20th Century Britain. The next objective of the Terminators is the home planet of the Gothic Empire, Britannia, and its capital London. Nemesis has tried to warn the Ion Duke, but his daughter Ursa and aide Colonel Starblower are secretly in league with Torquemada to prevent him to listen to Nemesis warnings. Nemesis pet familiar Grobbendonk has heard the two plotters talking about a secret meeting with Torquemada at 'The Eagle' in Whitechapel, and his need for nourishment. He had to inform Nemesis (5 pages).

Comments:

This strip and the following were drawn by Kevin O'Neill just after 'Killer Whatt' four years earlier. But this arc was eventually postponed to let Pat Mills introduce the world of Torquemada and the world of Nemesis before developing the 'Gothic Empire' plot. According to Pat Mills' introduction of Titan Book Nemesis book three (where the 'Gothic Empire' arc was first reprint), in 1983, economic necessity forced Kevin O'Neill to find work in the United States so they will have to find a second artist to complete the saga.
