Defoe

Story:

1671. It is five years since London was devastated by the Great Fire, the inferno caused by a comet passing over the capital. But from the ashes rose the undead, hungry for the flesh of the living. Protecting the populace was former LevellerTitus DEFOE, who led an elite squad of zombie hunters called the Brethren of the Night. But although he’s retired, living in domesticity with Tomazine Scarlet, reeks have sought him out at his home. (6 pages + 1 map page)

Comments:

Several people Hanged at Tyburn by the ordinary of Newgate are cited thoughout the story (real people it seems). In this strip it is the case for Tom Cox (hung for robbery on the highway), James Leonard (hung for robbery on the highway) and Jenny Diver (head of a gang of thieves).

This preview has been published on 2000 AD tumblr page, including a map of London Rebuilt after the comet:

Ah, and by the way, Leigh Gallagher rules!
