Story:
'Only Robots Left Alive': a new officer has been assigned to Hammerstein section, and he think they are a disgrace so he will see that they are first over the top for a 'vital' offensive. After a gruesome slaughter, where Sergeant 'country' Joe and private 'baby face' Brannigan died, the American flag is planted on the objective (objective that is eventually no longer of strategic importance). But Hammerstein has made his case, so now robots were going to replace human soldiers. He is promoted sergeant to lead them into battle (6 pages).
Comments:
If it wasn't for Hammerstein, the first half of the strip looks totally like a Charley's War strip. Nice touch having 'bomber' Harrison in these war memoirs, "with machines behaving like men ... and men behaving like machines.
