Story:
John Probe has 24h to kill the president of Irania before the latter invades his neighboring country of Turkostan. To reach him, Probe simply declares at the custom desk that he's gonna kill the president, in order to be arrested by Colonel Krall, chief of the secret police. M.A.C.H. 1 succeeds in killing them both and escapes the presidential's palace in a tank (6 pages).Comments:
Yes, it's a Pat Mills story, so the hero who intends to kill a president, do kill him in the end! It's a very bold and crazy strip, as the names of countries are barely disguised and the hero is killing his target without any second thoughts. Absolutely refreshing! Note that this story was supposed to be the first M.A.C.H. 1 story in 2000 AD #1. Also this strip displays an editor's not to prevent "idiots" to copy M.A.C.H. 1's exploits.
